How to recover your User ID
1
Go to the Discover login area
Visit https://www.discover.com and click Log In to open the secure login fields.
2
Click Forgot User ID/Password
Find and click the Forgot User ID/Password? link near the User ID and password fields. The exact wording may vary slightly depending on the page version.
3
Choose User ID recovery
Select the option to recover your User ID. You may see separate options for recovering a User ID, resetting a password, or both. Choose the User ID option.
4
Enter your card and identity details
Provide the requested information, such as your card number, expiration date, the last four digits of your Social Security number, and your ZIP code. The exact fields may vary. These details help Discover confirm you are the account owner.
5
Complete any extra verification
Discover may send a one-time verification code to your registered email or mobile phone number. Enter that code when prompted. If you do not see the code within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.
6
View or receive your User ID
After successful verification, Discover will either display your User ID on the screen or send it to your registered email address. Make a note of it and store it somewhere safe.
7
Log in
Return to the Discover login page, enter your recovered User ID and your password, and sign in to your account.
If you still cannot recover your User ID
- Verify that you are using the same card number and ZIP code associated with your Discover account.
- Check that your email and phone number on file are current so you can receive verification codes.
- If the online recovery does not work, call the customer service number printed on the back of your Discover card or listed on discover.com.
